Doug is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) with an MBA in Financial Planning and is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). Before establishing De Groote Financial Group, Doug founded the United Wealth Management division of United Capital. Prior to that, Doug was a partner at Crowell, Weedon and Co. He regularly contributes to a variety of financial and general media.
Doug is the founder of Lunch With 4 Interesting People and built out the process that has helped train hundreds of advisors to create and facilitate lunches that allows for the free flow of information and ideas that drives our economy, encourage freedom of information and the expression of thought. This unique process teaches professionals how to facilitate lunches to maximize the opportunity for the discerning business owner, professionals and travelers to share, grow and learn from a unique group of interesting people.
Doug’s passion, and what he believes, is that everyone deserves the opportunity; they deserve to have the freedom and at the same time the responsibility to be pro-active in helping themselves achieve independence and financial success.
Doug’s life is focused around his family, wife and three children, and making sure they get the foundation that is necessary for them to have the awareness of the opportunities that abound in our great country.
Doug is on the board of Turning Point USA. The organization’s mission is to identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government. They have a presence on over 1,000 college campuses and high schools across the country. I think if we want to see freedom flourish and people prosper, our education system needs real change. It has to start with the youth, and I am committed to helping with this endeavor through bringing people together to discuss the issues and threats to free speech and opportunity.
